Set in the village of Selsey, Smugglers Cottage is in the perfect base for a holiday at the seaside. Selsey offers beautiful walks, local shops, restaurants and cafes. Selsey is perhaps most famous for its lifeboat station and beach, making it a very popular destination in the summer months. With great local amenities you can base yourself here for the whole week or travel further afield to West Wittering, Arundel and Chichester only twenty minutes away. Chichester train station boasts fantastic links too with a train going straight to London Victoria, Brighton and Salisbury.
Smugglers Cottage has everything you need to effectively self-cater during your stay. The kitchen comes equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine and even a Nespresso Magimix.
The cottage has been decorated beautifully and the modern comfy living area is a peaceful space to unwind in front of the log burner and smart TV with DVD player after a long day exploring! Leading on from the living area, there is a lovely conservatory looking over the quaint garden, Why not open up door to the garden area and make use of the table and chairs for a spot of something fizzy. There is also a separate dining area to sit down as family and enjoy your meal.
Smugglers Cottage has two good sized double bedrooms. There is also a family bathroom with an electric shower over the bath.
The cottage comes with a drive plus there is ample room of on-street parking for couples travelling together or a family.
Please note - There are wide gaps on the bannister going up the stairs, please be mindful when staying with young children.
If you are not travelling by car, Smugglers Cottage is very easy to get to by public transport. Chichester train station is adjacent to the Bus station from where a Selsey Bus runs every 20 minutes to the stop 100m away.
The beach at Selsey is only a few minutes walk from the front door and there are excellent walks along the beach as well as sea fishing, for which the village is renowned. There is a good selection of village shops and for more extensive shopping, Chichester lies about nine miles to the north. Selsey has its own golf course and is within easy driving distance of the courses at Chichester and Goodwood. There is very good sailing in the nearby villages of Itchenor and Bosham. The Downs are just to the north of Chichester and the many attractions at Goodwood are with half an hour's drive. These include horse racing and the Revival Meeting along with the Festival of Speed. Chichester also has a world famous Festival Theatre. This location, which enjoys some of the best weather in the U.K. is a great destination for people requiring a quiet break or an active holiday, with lots of museums to visit (including the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum at Singelton), the Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth and Polo at Cowdray. There is a great outlet shopping at Gunwarf keys, and plenty Historic places of interest such as the recently re-vamped D Day Museum, The Mary Rose, HMS Warrior and last but not least HMS Victory. The South Downs offer beautiful scenic walks and panoramic views and in addition to the beach at Selsey, there is an excellent sandy one at West Wittering.
