Situated at the top of Chichester Harbour, Emsworth is a stunningly beautiful market town popular with sailors, walkers, artists and tourists. It has two tidal mill ponds, one of which abuts Bath Road, which are host to a variety of wild life. It is full of history, with a long established reputation for oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandleries. The sailing club is a thriving centre for sailing enthusiasts and the pretty streets have a fascinating mixture of different architectural styles. A gentle walk around the village, which has superb harbour views, gives a genuine feel for the past. It is very easy to travel to Portsmouth to the west (about 15 minutes by car or train) and Chichester to the east, which is a similar distance. Chichester is an historical city surrounded by beautiful countryside with a thriving shopping centre and world famous Festival Theatre. London is about 70 minutes by rail. This is one of the most sought after areas in the U.K. and attracts visitors from all over the world.
