Rustington is a very pretty and extremely popular seaside village with much to recommend it, including a thriving community spirit, plenty of shops and a long sandy beach.
Rustington is the kind of village you used to see pictured on chocolate boxes. The village centre is awash with well maintained flower beds and floral arrangements (Rustington has won many floral awards over the years, including a Gold Award in the 2016 South and South East in Bloom Competition) and the many 17th and 18th century flint cottages just add to the charm. The village has an extraordinary number of shops for its size, with more than 80 independent and big name stores, coffee shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs, and the free parking in the centre just adds to the appeal. There’s a dedicated Visitor Information Centre on the main Churchill Car Park where you can pick up leaflets on the many attractions in the local and wider area, while the Rustington Museum will fill you in on the history of this special village from ancient times right up to today. The local beach is sand and shingle and a popular spot for kite surfing thanks to the south-westerly winds coming in from the English Channel.
