To the rear of the property there is a large open plan kitchen dining area with another log burner and cosy seating area. The kitchen is very well equipped so guests will be able, comfortably, to self cater for their stay including kettle, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, large double electric oven and 7 ring gas hob and integral grill. The hosts have also provided a washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is a large scrubbed top table with plenty of seating looking out onto the pretty cottage garden which has an outside table with chairs cushions and, for May to September, a large sunshade.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, one with a vanity basin. The family bathroom is on the first floor with bath with shower attachment, good size shower cubicle and WC.
There is off road parking for two vehicles.
Full gas central heating throughout, with part underfloor heating, and the hosts kindly provide logs for the downstairs wood burners for a couple of nights. New , for Winter 24/25, is an easy-adjustment heating control unit enabling guests to control the house temperature precisely to their needs.
Dogs are welcome to stay at Dolphin Cottage, (though unfortunately no cats due to owner allergies) but any additional damage/cleaning as a result will be charged.
Hayling Island is a lovely quiet town on the eastern border of Hampshire with lovely beaches and an interesting mix of independent shops, restaurants and cafes, There is a lovely walk (or cycle) along the Billy Line starting on the waterfront and all the way into Havant following the old railway line.
A cyclists’ paradise, generally, there are many, many options to suit all competence levels, including the popular Hayling Island ferry link to Portsmouth and Southsea seafront.
Another must visit during your stay is to Gunwharf Quays outlet shopping centre and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The Hayling Ferry (passenger and cycle) to Portsmouth, Eastney links with a bus route (No. 25) which passes all the main points of interest in Portsmouth and Southsea and so makes a great day out. Special late night bus and ferry arrangements are also made for those visiting Victorious Festival from Hayling.
Just a short drive to the east you will find Chichester, the Roman Palace and also The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, home of the BBC Repair Shop.
