Sunbeam Cottage is in a perfect position right on Bosham's waterfront looking over the creek towards the Bosham quay, the Norman church and the Anchor Bleu pub. You will find it on the tidal Shore road on the “Ghost port” side with the quintessential view of Bosham that you find on all the postcards.
Car parking is up a raised driveway to keep your car safe when the road floods. There is also access to the house by a rear foot path when the road is awash.
From Sunbeam almost every window looks out across the water and onto Bosham village.
This lovely old fisherman’s cottage is a listed building filled with character and old world charm. From your first step across the threshold you will feel on holiday straight away. The old beams and beautiful décor give you that quintessential feel of an old English seaside cottage, yet with all the modern appliances to make for a comfortable stay in the 21st century!
The cosy kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to effectively self-cater during your stay. The AGA is the main hub for cooking and also the heart of the home keeping you cosy in the chillier months! In addition there is a 2 burner gas hob and combination oven/microwave.
From the kitchen you have a beautiful dining space and also a large light conservatory looking out towards the secluded south facing walled garden. It’s the perfect spot for a cool drink on a hot Summer’s day. Sundown time is best celebrated on the bench on the front terrace overlooking Bosham Creek to watch the sun going down over the church.
The living room with wide bay windows looking out across the Bosham waters is an excellent spot to wind down in the evening with a analogue television(nothing modern I’m afraid..but why would you waste time sitting indoors?). The dining room seats 6 for dinner at an oak table with Victorian chairs. Seaviews…obviously!
Sunbeam cottage has three bedrooms, all sea facing : two double bedrooms (both with King size beds) also a twin bedded room. All bedrooms are on the first floor and can be entered through beautifully quirky small sets of stairs adding once more to the old English feel this period property has to offer.
The cottage has one large bathroom with a glorious Victorian roll top bath. No real shower - just a hand shower over the bath.
Bosham’s Shoreside café , the Anchor Bleu Pub and craft walk are just 5-10 minutes walk away.
A little further along inland you will find Millstream Hotel which does an excellent tea for two and main meals in its Marwick restaurant. The Berkeley Arms pub serving delicious pub food and fresh pizza’s from a quirky gourmet pizza van which calls by once a week most weeks. The Anchor Bleu pub has a terrace overlooking the harbour (great views of Sunbeam Cottage!).
Sunbeam Cottage has parking for one car on the raised driveway.
Free wifi is available.
